Mega Buildings is the painting of geometric abstract artworks. I used bold colors and powerful textured knive strokes, as I do in all my paintings, in order to create a lasting visual impression. Art buyers (and art lovers) will see symbolic references to prominent 20th century abstract painters like Mark Rothko and Van Gogh.
Buildings and city structures, tall towers of modern architectural buildings and tall sky scrapers with glass structures are becoming more and more abstract and contemporary in design with the use of new and innovative materials and buildings techniques. The old against the new buildings- textures and differing levels colours and tones is what I find most interesting and how these play against each other to produce an interesting and amazing skyline view of mega city proportions.
I don't try to copy any particular city skyline but only use as reference to colour tones and values which changes according to artistic atheistic and juxtaposition of colours.
Blocks of colours and simple textures are what abstract interpretation is what I strive for.I don't want to confuse the eye with details which will take away from the initial feeling and composition. Detail is suggested as is place and familiarity as to keep the paintings contemporary and visually stimulating longer to the viewer.
