The Tree of Good Fortune is another in my series of trees. Created with a white/cream/golden coloured background the tree made up from gold, cream, yellow ochre leaves painted in acrylic, with the addition of some gold metallic leaf to a few of the shapes. A deep brown tree trunk finishes it off and all edged with black. The painting glistens when the metallic leaf catches the light and appears in different colours from different angles adding real interest (see secondary images for examples). The paint was laid so that the lovely flowing brush marks are evident and you can see this from the close up photos too. A lovely happy painting that has a real feel good factor and would make a wonderful gift too. ..."

This commissioned original painting was inspired by my earlier painting called "The Tree of Love". My client who liked the earlier painting wanted something similar but original in its own right. I therefore sketched out a new drawing in my sketch book with no reference to the earlier painting, apart from a rough vision in my mind since I feel this is the best way in which to get a new original piece. The title picked by my client reflects what she and her partner felt when admiring photos of the painting. 7The 12th painting in a series of new work which has kind of evolved from my fluid inspired abstracts!
