I have always had a keen interest in art since early childhood and have always been very creative; drawing, doodling or painting on various materials. I studied art and ceramics until my late teens and then won a place at Berkshire College of Art & Design in Maidenhead, but pursued a different career for financial reasons very sadly. I am virtually self taught but have learnt skills and techniques from other artists and have created a style of my own, using bright and vibrant colour in most of my paintings.
My passion for my art returned when I first moved to France in 2001. I learnt the skill of porcelain painting, taught by a professional Limoges porcelain painter in Toulouse for a couple of years. In 2010 an artist friend re-introduced me to watercolour painting and another one to acrylic painting. I decided that acrylic painting was for me and I enjoy the versatility of the paint and textures that can be created. I also enjoy drawing and am a keen photographer.
I live in the Languedoc Rousillion region (South of France). The light, land and seascapes locally provide much of the inspiration for my work. I have sold my paintings in the USA, Australia, UK, Spain, Portugal and France. I send each artwork in sturdy packaging with registered post which normally take 5 -7 days to arrive at their destination.
In October 2018, I won first prize in a local exhibition/competition with Madlabs at a local wine domaine in Marseillan, Herault, France.
